The Adansonii is a Monstera must-have! With delicate leaves that develop a beautiful pattern of holes (or fenestrations), these indoor faves pack a punch! So, how do you get them to live their best life!? Here's everything you need to know to grow a booming Monkey Mask!

What light does Monstera Adansonii need? ☀️

Used to growing up tree trunks under a sun-dappled canopy, these guys love the feeling of bright, indirect light on their leaves! Keep those delicate leaves away from harsh sun (especially afternoon sun)!

When should I water Monstera Adansonii?

These plants can get pretty thirsty, especially over the Summer time. If you see crispy edges, it means you're under-watering. Make sure the first inch or two of soil is dry before you water with diluted Grow Concentrate. It should need a drink about every week in Summer and ever 2-3 weeks in Winter.

What's the best soil for a Monstera Monkey Mask?

Like most houseplants, this baby is gonna love well draining potting mix. Try an indoor potting mix or make your own with orchid bark, perlite and horticultural charcoal. Make sure to add Support Pellets to detoxify the soil and gently nourish the roots.

Does Monstera Adansonii like humidity? ☁️

Well, she's a tropical babe, so absolutely! Avoid misting these guys with water, because they are pretty susceptible to fungal infections. Check out these tips for creating the perfect humid environment.

What's the best fertiliser for Monstera Adansonii?

Chemical fertilisers easily overdose and burn these guys! Use the bioactive and organic formula Grow with EVERY water. Add Support Pellets through the soil every months or when repotting, and you'll have one nourished plant!

We The Wild recommends

Feed your Monstera right

The duo your Monkey Mask will thank you for — organic liquid food for every water, plus slow-release pellets to keep roots happy between feeds.

Can you propagate Monstera Monkey Mask?

Yep, you sure can! The easiest way is to cut below the node and chuck it in some water with Support Pellets. Eventually, roots will shoot and you'll know she's ready for a pot when secondary roots appear (when the main root/s have little roots coming off them).

Some helpful hints:

  • Though these guys are beautiful hanging plants, they prefer climbing, so you'll always see the best growth and leaf size if you put the plant on a moss pole.
  • If you've had a hiccup in your care routine and find yourself with a long, leafless vine, you can use this method to get some bushy growth back.
  • These guys love a warm temperature; so, despite the humidity, they're not a fan of a cold, tiled bathroom as a home.
